Why should I register?
 


After registration, you can use the referral services provided by our Job Centres as well as the Telephone Employment Service Centre. Of course, you can enjoy all the functions of our website. They include:

(a) saving your selected jobs to "View Clipped Jobs" for further use and reference;

(b) receiving regular "Job Alert" by email with the most up-to-date and suitable vacancies received by the Labour Department;

(c) saving your resume in our database for future update and job application using "Apply Online";

(d) posting up your work qualifications in our web for viewing by employers to facilitate employer to invite you for job interview.Top

How much does it cost to register?
 
All services provided by our website are free of charge. Top

How do I register?
 
Click "Jobs" - "Register Now" in "Home". Just follow the instructions to fill in the form. Once you login our website using your "Login Name" and "Password", your registration process is completed. Top

I have already registered with the Job Centre of the Labour Department. Can I use the service at your website?
 
Yes. Simply click "Jobs" – "Register Now", input your English name, date of birth and telephone numbers in the registration form and the system will link up with Job Centre’s record.Top

5.
Will my personal information be publicized?
 
No. Your personal particulars including your name, telephone numbers and correspondence address will not be shown on our website. Only your job related information, such as education background, skills and job preference will be displayed. Top

I am not a Hong Kong resident. Can I use the service at your website?
 
Our service is only offered to job seekers who are legally employable in Hong Kong. People who do not have the right of abode or right to land in Hong Kong have to apply for visa or entry permit before they can come to Hong Kong for employment. For information about visa application for employment in Hong Kong, please visit the website of the Immigration Department of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region at http://www.immd.gov.hk. If you have further enquiry, you may contact the Immigration Department at enquiry@immd.gov.hk. Top

If I do not have an email address, can I register at your website?
 
If you do not have an email address, please apply for one before registration. A copy of your "Password" will then be sent to you by email after registration.Top

How should I input my English name and date of birth?
 
Please input your English name and date of birth exactly the same as printed on your Hong Kong Identity Card.Top
 
9.
How should I select "Login Name"?
 
"Login Name" will be used to login our website. It can be any combination of English characters, numbers or underscore only.Top

Can I change my "Login Name"?
 
Sorry, your "Login Name" cannot be changed.Top

Can I change my "Password"?
 
Yes. You can change your "Password" by choosing "Change Password " after logon. Top

What can I do if I have already registered online but I still do not receive a copy of "Login Name" and "Password" through email?
 
Please email the following information:
1. English name on your HKID card
2. Date of birth
3. Home and mobile telephone numbers
4. HKID Card Number (last 4 digits excluding that in the parentheses, if the HKID card number is A123456(7), please provide 3456)

What can I do if I forget my "Login Name" or "Password"?
 
You can click "Jobs" and then click "Forget Password". Input the information required. Our system will send the "Login Name" and "Password" to the email address according to record.

If your registered email address has been changed, please email the following information:
1. English name on your HKID card
2. Date of birth
3. Home and mobile telephone numbers
4. HKID Card Number (last 4 digits excluding that in the parentheses, if the HKID card number is A123456(7), please provide 3456)

How can I update my registration record?
 


If you have already registered at our web site, simply login and choose "Update Profile". You may then update your registration profile and click the "Finish" button

How can I search jobs?
 


You can search jobs by using "Jobs" – “Search Jobs” in "Home".

"Detailed Search"

You can select either "Occupation" or "Industry" and fill in your search criteria, like position, salary, working location, etc. in the Detailed Search Form and press "Query". A list of jobs satisfying your criteria will then appear.

"Easy Search"

  • "Newest Jobs" - Newest jobs are displayed in descending order of date.
  • "Keyword Search" - Input keyword(s) that describe the jobs that you are looking for. Jobs containing the inputted keyword(s) will be displayed.
  • "Job Order Number" - You can retrieve a specific job order by inputting its Job Order Number and click "Search".

"Dedicated Categories"

Dedicated search engines help you to search job vacancies in specific industries or occupations. You can fill in your search criteria, like salary, working location, etc. in the Detailed Search Form and press "Query"/"Search". Then, a list of jobs satisfying your criteria will appear.Top

How often are jobs updated?
 
Jobs posted at our website are updated as soon as possible every working day.Top

How can I narrow down my search results?
 
From our job summary page, you can click the "Back to selected criteria" button to fine tune your search criteria in Detailed Search Form.Top

What can I do if there is no vacancy meeting my search criteria?
 
Please click "Go Back" button from the job summary page to return to Detailed Search Form to broaden your search criteria.Top

Can I sort the search result?
 
Yes. You may sort the search result based on the posted date, salary, relevant experience or education level of the matched jobs. You can sort the jobs when you fill in the Detailed Searched Form or when the results are displayed.Top

How can I apply for jobs without employers’ contact means?
 
If contact means of the employers are not displayed, you have to use our referral service to apply for the jobs. Please do not email resume to our website. Job seekers who have already registered at this website or Job Centres in the past 2 years could approach our Job Centres or call the Telephone Employment Service Hotline 2969 0888 for referral service.Top

Will I be informed if there are new jobs suitable for me?
 
Yes. If you have registered online, you just need to subscribe "Job Alert" and save your search criteria after logon. Our computer system will conduct regular job match for you and deliver the matched jobs to you via email.Top

What should I do if I find that during interview, the employer makes unreasonable request or the employment terms and conditions offered are different from the vacancy information displayed by the Labour Department?
 
You should inform the staff of our Job Centres as soon as possible and follow-up action with employers will be taken accordingly. You should pay attention to the employment terms and conditions and consider them carefully whether to accept the offer or not. You are also advised to consult your family members/friends or the Labour Department if there are any terms unclear or unfavourable to you.Top

If I find that a displayed vacancy has already been filled, do I need to inform the Labour Department?
 
Yes. We actively follow up with employers on the vacancy status and keep the vacancy information up-to-date. However, some employers cannot promptly inform us of changes on vacancy information because of a number of reasons. As a result, information of some vacancies may not be kept updated. We apologize for any inconvenience caused.

If you find that a displayed vacancy has already been filled or there has been major change in information, we should be grateful if you could inform our staff of Job Centres. We will follow up accordingly.Top

Do I need to notify you if I get a job?
 
You can click "Jobs" in "Home" and then click "Report Found Work" to input the details.Top

  1. Open browser. Select "Help" on the menu bar.
  2. If the last item on the pull-down menu is “About Internet Explorer”, your browser is Internet Explorer. If it is “About Netscape 7”, your browser is Netscape 7.
  3. For those using Internet Explorer please click “About Internet Explorer" to check its version.
  4. If version displays as 6.0.xxxx.xxxx, the version of the browser is Internet Explorer 6.0 while 5.xx.xxxx.xxxx means Internet Explorer 5.x.Top

What should I do if the input boxes become blank after I enter my "Login Name", "Password" and click "Logon"?
 
Please make sure the browser you are using is Internet Explorer 6.0 or Netscape 7 or above.

If you are using Internet Explorer, please try to delete Temporary Internet files:

  1. Open Internet Explorer.
  2. Select the "Tools" on menu bar, then click "Internet Option..."
  3. Click "Delete Files..." from "Temporary Internet files" section
  4. Check the box "Delete all offline content" and click "OK"
  5. Click "OK" again
  6. Close Internet Explorer
  7. Open Internet Explorer, login the Interactive Employment Service website http://www.jobs.gov.hk.Top

What should I do if I could not login after Temporary Internet files were deleted?
 


Please check and adjust the settings of "Security" and "Advanced", etc.

  1. Open Internet Explorer
  2. Select the "Tools" on menu bar, then click "Internet Options..."
  3. Select "Security" tab, then set the "Security level for this zone" as "Medium" or click "Default Level" button
  4. Select "Advanced" tab, then click "Restore Defaults"
  5. Select "Privacy" tab. Set privacy to "Medium" or click "Default" button
  6. Click "Apply" and then click "OK"
  7. Close Internet Explorer
  8. Open Internet Explorer, login the Interactive Employment Service website http://www.jobs.gov.hk.Top

I have entered my "Login Name" and "Password". What should I do if it shows a "Invalid Login Name or Password" message?
 
  1. Please make sure your "Login Name" and "Password" are valid
  2. Type "Login Name" and "Password" directly. Please do not copy data from email and paste into input boxes
  3. There should be no space between characters
  4. If you are using "AutoComplete" feature of Internet Explorer to fill the "Login Name" and "Password" automatically, please delete the filled items and type the "Login Name" and "Password" instead .Top

How can I know if my "Login Name" and "Password" are still valid?
